Oh god.
I didn't do much today really... but oh god.
I walked out of the living room just now, and I saw a movement out of the corner of my left eye.
I turned to look, but saw nothing. I looked at the ground, preparing to go back into the living room.
And there it was.
A huntsman had fallen off the wall, missed my shoulder by centimeteres and landed on a sock the same colour as itself.
I quickly got a container, but couldn't seperate the huntsman and the sock.
I took them both outside in the container.
I set a torch up next to the container, so I could see where the huntsman was, and began removing the lid.
Unfortunately, I could only open the container from one corner, and of course that was the corner the huntsman was in.
I carefully hit the container on the ground, with the openable part down, so it crawled up the container to the opposite end.
I placed the container flat again, and made sure, with the torch, that the huntsman stayed where it is.
I then began to peel the lid off, feeling slightly better that it was in the other corner, but ready to jump back all the same.
The lid came off without the huntsman moving at all.
Then came the sock...
I grabbed the sock at the opposite end of where the huntsman was, pulling it up very slowly.
The spider twitched its legs a few times, but stayed still otherwise. I threw the sock behind me.
I upturned the container and hit it on the ground relatively softly. The spider stuck to the top of the container.
I hit again slightly harder. The spider dropped off... but didn't move. I almost thought it was dead.
Nope.
I took my eye off it for a second as I picked up the torch. I looked back to where I put the huntsman, but couldn't see it.
I looked around frantically, jumping around in the frustation of not knowing where it was.
I looked closer to my feet, hoping not to see it. It wasn't there.
Another movement out of the corner of my eye.
I shine the torch.
The huntsman was moving at great speed, directly towards me.
I followed it with the torch before I realised what it was doing and I started to walk backwards.
It turned and headed into the garden somewhere. I followed it with the torch light for a bit and it stopped.
I looked at it for a bit longer, then turned and ran to the door. Spiders creep me out now.
I opened the door, placed the torch down in it's correct place and sat down at the computer.
After a quick breather...
I went into DeviantArt and began to type...
*NOTE* This is a true story, it seriously happened to me just now...
**OKAY, OKAY** So I MAY have exaggerated SOME parts of the recollection. But the outline is basically correct.
